In 2006, based on a decision by the Federal Health Commission, the Austrian Hospital and Biomedical Equipment Plan (ÖKAP/GGP), which had been effective until the end of 2005, was replaced by the 2006 Austrian Health Care Structure Plan (ÖSG 2006), which since then has formed the nationwide basis of integrated health care planning in Austria and the Framework Plan for Detailed Regional Planning, in particular the Regional Health Care Structure Plans (RSG) at provincial level.
According to the decision by the Federal Health Commission of March 2009, the ÖSG 2008 Structural Plan was adopted, which complements and expands ÖSG 2006. An integrative service provision plan, it also serves as the basis and starting point for further GÖG/ÖBIG projects in the field of integrated health care planning, especially Regional Health Care Structure Plans (RSG) in several provinces.
