PPRI Report (2008)

The PPRI Report provides a comparative analysis and insight in pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement systems in 27 European countries.

Pharmaceutical prices as well as strategies for pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement differ between the EU Member States. Within the scope of the EU project "Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Information" (PPRI) GÖG/ÖBIG and WHO Europe established for the first time a comprehensive network. More than 50 institutions – competent authorities and other relevant institutions in the phar-maceutical sector – from EU Member States and beyond are involved of this network. The participating country representatives produced PPRI Pharma Profiles with country specific information which allowed for both a comparative analysis of key characteristics of pharma-ceutical systems and experience exchange with regard to country specific measures. Thus, this project has contributed to an improved transparency on pharmaceuticals in the EU from a public health perspective.
