Cost Factors in the Veterinary Pharmacy (2003)

For the first time in Austria, costs for running a veterinary pharmacy were investigated.

The ÖBIG publication “Cost Factors in the Veterinary Pharmacy” identifies key cost fac-tors in the veterinary pharmacy.

The report is divided in three parts:
- Legal framework: an overview of current legal EU and national regulations concerning the distribution of veterinary pharmaceuticals and the obligations in connection with running a veterinary pharmacy
- Cost factors: an investigation of key cost factors (such as cost of sales, personnel costs, material costs) in a veterinary pharmacy, based on the analysis of the legal provisions and on interviews with selected veterinarians in Austria
- Resumé: a summary of the main results
