Psychotherapy

The Psychotherapy Act has been in force since 1991 and regulates the training of psychotherapists as well as the self-employed exercise of psychotherapy as a health care profession. The authorised psychotherapists are registered in the link etxtern list of psychotherapists list of psychotherapists maintained by the Federal Ministry of Health.

GÖG/ÖBIG continually monitors and analyses the quantitative development of this professional group and the legal regulations governing the exercise of the profession throughout the EEA area and Switzerland. Other focal areas of studies in this field include quality assurance of professional training and the exercise of the corresponding professions as well as the investigation into specific areas of care. One example is the care situation regarding psychotherapy financed by insurance funds and the differences regarding the care situation in various provinces.
