PPRI (Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement Information) is a networking and information-sharing initiative focusing on topical issues of pharmaceutical policies from a public health perspective.
It involves a network of almost 60 institutions (mainly national authorities and third-party payers) from the entire European Union, plus Albania, Canada, Iceland, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland and Turkey. The network was developed as follow-up of the PPRI EU research project (2005–2007) managed by GÖG’s Health Economics Department.
As a result of the project 23 country-specific pharmaceutical profiles, a pharmaceutical glossary and pharmaceutical indicators are now available. The participating countries update the Pharma profiles, on a voluntary basis, at irregular intervals.
The PPRI network has remained active also after the formal completion of the research project, and meetings take place on a regular basis (the latest was held in Berlin in February 2009, organised by the German Ministry of Health).
In 2008 a comprehensive analysis based on PPRI indicators was published:
PPRI Report (2008),
Pharma Profile Austria (2008).
