Health reports

Health reports provide information on the state of health of the population, health-related patterns of behaviour and the provision of health care services. They analyse the current situation, point to sociodemographic, social and regional differences and show development trends.

By means of further analyses, underlying factors as well as latent interrelations may be detected and investigated in more detail. In the context of the Health Reporting Platform, recommendations for the preparation and function of health reports were drawn up, whose main purpose is to permit a comparison between different health reports.

As of 2002, GÖG/ÖBIG has prepared health reports at federal, provincial and local levels, a number of which are updated at regular intervals. The range of specialised reports (gender-related health reports, reports on individual groups of diseases, etc.) will eventually be extended and include additional reports on selected population groups.
