Disease prevention

In the sense of secondary prevention this area focuses on early detection of specific diseases and on preventing or postponing the manifestation of a disease or of consecutive diseases, by means of preventive measures and/or treatment at an early stage.

The corresponding measures are directed at individuals in the preclinical phase, when they subjectively do not perceive any symptoms of a disease. Prevention activities are aimed at detecting diseases at a definite early stage where frequently no symptoms are apparent. In this way, specific preventive measures or early treatment can be arranged in time.
