(Further) training and (inter)national networks

Training, further training and networks are relevant in order to advance health promotion issues. Health promotion, as a practice-oriented or a research-oriented approach, as well as primary prevention, require a combination of technical, process-specific, strategic and group dynamics qualifications which usually go far beyond the specific qualifications one has acquired in a certain professional field: FGÖ’s course programme on health promotion and training networks, which has been run since 1999, is one example of such specialised further training programmes.

Networks are another essential health promotion strategy: they permit a systematic exchange of experience as well as joint learning, optimised use of synergy and resources and the creation of new knowledge as a result of cooperation.
