HLA-typing - Call for proposal

Ladies and Gentlemen,

hereby we want to inform you about a call for proposals of the Austrian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMR):

The ABMR intends to reanalyse the HLA types of about 7.000 DNA samples of Austrian donors. ABMR requests for proposals on the price of those analyses. Please send your calculations for the following requirements:

  • HLA typing based on sequencing analyses that cover (per sample) as a minimum the deter-mination of the nucleotide sequences of exons 2 and 3 of HLA-A, B and C alleles as well as exons 2 of HLA-DRB1, DQB1 and DPB1 alleles.
  • HLA typing based on more comprehensive analyses that include exons in addition to the aforementioned, 5’ and 3’ parts, and introns of the HLA genes. Similarly, the typing of DRB3/4/5 loci would seem advantageous.

The analyses must be performed in a laboratory that has been accredited by either EFI or ASHI. A copy of the most recent certificate must be delivered. Additional accreditations (e.g. DIN EN ISO 15189) are advantageous.

The delivery of results must include

a) the assignment of alleles including the version of the HLA/IMGT database that has been used for this assignment, and

b) information whether the phasing of polymorphic residues with an exon or between neighbou-ring exons has been established by sequencing the alleles separately and c) processed raw data, i.e. consensus sequences of all single sequences that have been used for allele assign-ment, including sequences of the 5’ and 3’ part of the gene and introns.

The request for proposal will be publicised via EFI and ASHI channels. Upon receipt of proposals, they will be ranked on economical and medical aspects and further negotiations held according to the ranking.

Mandate and the beginning of the delivery starting 2015, settlement of the performance not later than the end of March 2016.

Please return your offer until December, 5th at the latest to birgit.priebe(at)goeg.at.

Yours sincerely,
Mag. Georg Ziniel, MSc
General Manager
